A Worthy Use of a Sunday Afternoon

We shot for five and a half hours. Six if you count the thirty minutes we took for lunch, which I'm not. Needless to say, it was a long day, but totally worth it. Working with G from GBallonPhotography was definitely a life changing experience. The essence of a good shoot, in my personal opinion, is the ability to learn and grow from and with the photographer or model. G's wildly excitable personality makes shooting with him an experience of a lifetime.

We started in his studio, working with a single light and a blank wall. We were going for high fashion, so my makeup was a little wilder than I'm used to (let's go with I've never had that prominent of eyebrows). G's idea for the shoot was 'fierce', 'attitude', and 'fashion'. I'll let you decide if we hit that target...

After shooting all we could come up with against a blank white wall, we moved to the black background for more contrast. (I'll tell you a secret...we used the TV as our black background. I'm sure that was a horror in Photoshop, but that's a question G would have to answer). We shot with the window for a change of scenery and then decided to move outdoors to shoot in an empty field. On a whim, we decided to shoot a shot or two with the construction equipment next door to the studio. Over all, the shoot was a blast. Definitely worth my entire Sunday.
